Chihuahua Papillon Cross

I am a lovable lap warmer

This is  Honey Suckle  three fourths chihuahua and one fourth papillion.

We love chihuahuas and got our first one 12 years ago. I had to get past my predjudice about little shivery-rat-dogs-that-yap.  I find I am not the only one who ever underestimated these little big dogs. Chica proved herself to the cat she was only one fourth his size !

When she was 3 years old, she had one litter of two male puppies, each who became pets to our children, who named them Snoopy and Charlie Brown.

We could not pass up the puppy at the local pet store, they called her a Chion, as she was half Chihuahua and half Papillion. They are called that because their huge ears look like butterflies, or papillion in french.

We named her Mona Lisa, as she is so  beautiful, distinctive and intelligent. We learned that she loves to have puppies and  to play with them.

Her first litter was fathered by Snoopy, Honey Suckle is one of them.  We kept her son, Leonardo.

Chi Papi Doodle

This year's litter of two fathered by Scamper, our Chihuahua poodle cross.  We got him from a neighbor who helped to get a lost poodle back to its owner, and later learned he had left her chihuahua female pregnant. I fell in love with both puppies and they came to live with us.

Scamp looks like the son of Lady and the Tramp and is so loyal and athletic.  He has Benji like hair, and chihuahua ears. His sister Bridgette is more poodle looking, and looks best when she gets her regular grooming.

Mona and Scamp had two  born on January 19, 2009  and we named in honor of our new president. Kansas, the female has upright ears and some white on her paws. She is very cuddly and calm. Kenya, the male is a little bigger, has floppy poodle ears and his undercoat keeps revealing more colors. He has a lot of energy and a constant dog-smile on his face.

Kansas recently found her forever home, and Kenya is currently available. .
